The Pac Ten is a joke and waaay overrated. There isn't a team in the Pac Ten that would go undefeated in the Big Ten ... oh ... and by the way, duking it out for a capital one bowl, or outback bowl is certainly better than the walnut bowl in San Jose ... Go Pac Ten--GAY!

Comment on "excessive celebration" rule and the remark made about "not blaming the official, but the rule":

I offer this: how would you feel if you got a speeding ticket for going 56 in a 55 zone? Would you compliment the officer on his "ruling", and then proceed to write your legislator about the law? Of course you wouldn't... you'd be pissed as heck and probably think the officer was an idiot - just like the ref. In almost of all society's "legal systems", we rely on sound judgment and interpretation by the officiation parties. Not only was the official's ruling deficient in the "spirit of the law", but an egregious error of enormous proportions.

Sincerely,
Will Lee

The scheduling of "cupcakes" is a lose lose situation. If you win, then you're beating weak opponents. If you lose (i.e. Appalachian State vs Michigan ), the team then develops a stigma that will affect the human generated polls. The ACC will look much better this year due to this scheduling dilemma. A team such as UNC looked better as the season concluded in '07. This year their progress will be very difficult to determine because they will only play 2 teams in the preseason top 25 (Notre Dame and Virginia Tech).

i listen to all the major ncaaf podcasts, and you guys are, without doubt, the best there is. i like the way you can talk about things without getting hyped up on a soap box, and you don't have knee-jerk reactions that look ridiculous the following week once some games have been played. your picks are better thought out than anyone else's. i like to think i know something about ncaaf, and, though it's not the coddfish's style to be gushy, i really look forward to this cf podcast above all others.

Wisconsin played Michigan last year. Michigan beat them.

And did you forget to mention the mighty USC is playing Idaho.

Good conversation, but the contracts are signed too far in advance some times to create good match ups. Teams have off years and that can't be predicted when those contracts are signed.
